This tatto is from my friend Zulmarie Roman (http://ahhhgabs.tumblr.com/)
I got this piece at a tattoo convention in Miami yesterday.
My husband and I both got versions of the same anchor because we keep each other grounded. We both have a tendency to hit the ‘self-destruct’ button on our lives from time to time and we’re the only people we know who can pull each other back from the brink before we go off the rails.
The flowers are symbolic of a special friend of the family who pretty much raised me. She was a member of the church where Josh and I met and was very encouraging of our relationship when everyone else told me it was a bad idea and I was wasting my time with him. She passed away a few years ago, so I’m paying tribute to her, too, because pink carnations were her favorite flowers. <3
Jeff at Shamrock Tattoo from Ormond, Beach FL does amazing work!
Ive been a fisherman for my entire life, this symbolizes the stability and strength i need. Anchors hold things down, they’re supposed to be unmovable. I count on anchors to hold down my possessions. Anchors keep it all together. Had an awesome time getting this done by Troy Wilson From Dark Star Tattoo in Westport, MA
My 4th tattoo in less than a year! This chest piece is a representation of my fiery temper(banner script) and a reminder to stay centered and essentially, anchored(anchor). I also pay tribute to the beautiful women in my life(roses). Finally, I give myself a pat on the back and remind myself that I am worth something(diamond). Enjoy!
during a stage in my life, things seemed to fall apart until after I found the strength to keep going and that is why I chose an anchor, because they symbolize strength, the strength that was within me and without my knowledge, I also learned that there are things or people will not always be there and we need to appreciate them at the time that they seem perfect to us that’s why I chose the phrase in the loop that surrounds the anchor, i’m really thank to the artist Cesar Gutierrez that make my tattoo a masterpiece, i just came to him with a simple idea and he create this and in the end i really loved it.
Made in Youth Calabaza (monterrey,mexico).
My first tattoo ever, the cut rope is significant for me in letting go of the past.
Done by Ryan at Picton Tattoos, Picton NSW.
My fifth and probably favourite tattoo. I saw a local tattoo studio had cancellation space one morning, so arranged to go in that afternoon!
Done by Martin at Evolve-Tattoo, Lancaster
This is a tattoo on my left ribcage, and oh boy it was quite painful! All together it took about three hours. The snake represents my brother who was born in the year of the snake. Each of the roses represent an important person in my life, and the anchor all in all stands for family… they keep be grounded and well, anchored. I’m in absolute love with this piece, and I’m planning on adding color to the roses but for now, I’m keeping it simple! My tattoo artist is definitely one talented dude.
