This is my boyfriend’s latest tattoo. Done by Matt at Tattrix, Dunedin, New Zealand. Matt is amazing! No story behind it. We just thought it would look awesome, and it does!

Tattoo by Ishmael Johnson (inkvomit.com) in Fort Collins, CO. Took 2 sessions of about 3 straight hours, 6 hours total.

This is based on a piece by an artist named Greg ‘Craola’ Simkins, entitled “Feeders” (http://www.imscared.com/files/feeders_800.jpg). As much as I wanted the original piece just like it was painted, I thought it best to forgo detail that would undoubtedly fade with a short amount of time and add my own twist. The jellyfish was originally supposed to be a smaller “feeder” on the shark’s fin, but instead it completed the wrap-around.

I got this nautilus shell because it is one of the best examples of the fibonacci spiral in nature, and also because 20000 leagues under the sea is one of my favorite books a read as a child. This was done by Mark Williams at Holeshot Tattoo in Amherst MA
