This is my black koi fish I got in April. I never knew my father and have struggled with that my whole life, and built up a lot of resentment towards this man that I’ve never even seen a picture of. Black koi are father symbols, and the gold on the edges of the scales symbolize “good fortune” meaning that I believe I will one day be a better father just by knowing what I wish I had, and that while this internal struggle will never end, I’ve made my peace with it and accept that I will never know my biological father.
Done by Nick Arena at The Devil’s Rose Tattoo in Blue Point, NY. He’s an amazing artist who has done all of my work thus far and I plan to get much more done by him in the future, and everyone should check out his work he has an incredible style
