My Harry Potter tattoo, a phoenix clutching a time turner & the deathly hallows symbol, a golden snitch, & the script “Mischief Managed”. Sometimes I feel like a nerd for getting it, but it makes me love it even more. It means so much to me because the book series were a huge part of my childhood. Anytime I just wanted to escape from reality, I’d sit down and read one of the books. This tattoo is always going to remind me to get through the bad stuff and to have fun with life, but to keep it in check.
The piece was done by Jeff in Winston-Salem, NC at Deja Vu Tattoo and Piercing, total of 3, 3 hour sessions, and it is finally finished.

Here is my whole left arm tattoo, if I  had only one word to say is would be : Childhood. Never forget your Childhood, ever. What you believed in, what you wanted to be, what you expected, never let it down, even through time, issues, worries, remember who you are and fight for it.
Some know characters I have on my arm as : Sleeping Beauty & Maleficent which has been my favorite Disney movie for many reasons, and also Bambi as a knight in front of my magical castle I’ve on the inside of my arm. Pokemons, ice-cream, lollipop, biscuits, pink flamingos, a troll doll ( love their cute face ), Harry Potter spells, trees, garden, flowers and a violet cat, a flying elephant bound to balloons ~
I’m really happy and feel more selfconfident sine I have it under my skin, I’m glad to say that I tattooed my dreams, my hopes, and a colorful world I can fly through everytime I see it .
( I’m beginning another tattoo from chest to belly button ) with lovebirds, a flying key, and letterings ” Once upon a time ” & ” Encore une histoire “, french sentence to say : Another story …

Mom started reading the Harry Potter series aloud to me when I was five years old. We read one chapter every night well into fifth grade. We loved the series so much, we read the first four books three times while waiting for the release of Order of the Phoenix. She taught me to read out loud with the Harry Potter books. She always encouraged me to discuss themes and underlying plots throughout the series. Mom never shied from talking about the heavy references to death and loss and always focused on the ideas of love, friendship and strength. To this day, even with our busy lives, we set aside time to read the same books and discuss them in great length. I was taught that reading was like breathing - one needed it to thrive.
The word “Always.” may not be the biggest or most important moment in the Harry Potter series but it really captures my love for my mom and my love for books. (It doesn’t hurt that “Always” plays a role in The Hunger Games, either. Another book series Mom and I have bonded over.) So thank you, Mom, for all you’ve done for me in the last eighteen years. I love you always.

Zinnia flowers mean “thoughts of friends” or “thoughts of absent friends.” One of my best friends was taken from me on April 17, 2009 which is why my zinnia has 4 leaves (April) and 17 petals (the 17th).
Also, if you look closely, the deathly hallows symbol is hidden in one of the leaves, as a tribute to my inner nerd/childhood :)
It was done by Jen Trock at Speakeasy Custom Tattoo in Wicker Park, Chicago and I am absolutely in love with it!
