my very first tattoo, the inspiration on the left is the patch my grandfather wore as part of the 384 bomb group during ww2, on the right is the finished product with some minor color changes to make it “pop” more. Done by Den at Tattoo Seem Bronx NY

My Geisha and cherry blossom tree I love this art so much my artist ran with my idea and came back with this. This was my second tattoo, it’s taken about 10 hours so far; unfortunately she’s not finished yet, one of these days I’ll finish this piece.

This is my chest piece that I got last year. It is of a Tuskegee Airmen shooting down a German Luftwaffe plane. I grew up knowing one of the last Tuskegee Airmen who is now 90 years old. He is one of my heroes and I admire so much of what he has done and got this tattoo to honor what those men did back then.

This is an ancient sardinian votive statuatte, called “navicella nuragica”. It’s a bronze artifact from the nuragic civilization, date back to the 15th century A.C. I choose it for different meanings: my sardinian roots, the love for the history and knowledge, the shape, the sea and because represents the journey of the soul from the body to the afterworld.Ad the base of the ship there is the word “Shadowplay”, from the title of the Joy Division’ song. JD is my favourite group, Shadowplay is one of the most powerful and poetic song of every time and I really really love music. Today I made the tattoo and today, 18th may, is the 32th anniversary of the death of Ian Curtis. ps: sorry for my bad english.Tatto @ DoloresPain, Cagliari (Sardinia).https://www.facebook.com/dolorespain.tatuaggi

This tattoo represents my love of the 18th century Victorian London era. I absolutely love the fashion of the era and the overall aesthetics of it. The tattoo was designed and done by Andy Northup at All Star Tattoo in St. Louis, Missouri. He does absolute amazing work and I’m more than satisfied with the piece.

Hard to get a shot of the whole thing at once. Quote is from The Seventh Seal, image is a 15th c. woodcut by Hans Holbein.

“Remember your mortality”. Took about 12 hours and this is right after we finished.
I got this to remind me how fragile life really is.

I just recently got my half-sleeve completely finished. These are pictures the artist, Dave Bruehl, took right after it was done.
My sleeve consists of characters from the book The Odyssey. I decided on this tattoo because of the great symbolism that is used in the book,. Odysseus is eating a lotus, which is representing me forgetting my past. In the book, if anyone ate a lotus they forgot their home and could not return. Odysseus is also covering his ear with his other hand. This represents me not being reminded my past. The sirens (at the top) would remind people of their past by playing music, and this would cause them to crash their ships.
