My 4th tattoo in less than a year! This chest piece is a representation of my fiery temper(banner script) and a reminder to stay centered and essentially, anchored(anchor). I also pay tribute to the beautiful women in my life(roses). Finally, I give myself a pat on the back and remind myself that I am worth something(diamond). Enjoy!

For as long as i can remember i have struggled with depression and anxiety disorder.. Because its been a part of me for my entire life i know how to cope with it. Mostly brought on by life events, and partially genetics. My mom who also suffers has always told me to always keep my chin up, no matter how hard life becomes. When i told her my plan for this tattoo all she said was, “It’s already there, why go through the pain?” ♥I got my tattoo done in white ink. The stencil isn’t entirely faded on the “up” yet

Mom started reading the Harry Potter series aloud to me when I was five years old. We read one chapter every night well into fifth grade. We loved the series so much, we read the first four books three times while waiting for the release of Order of the Phoenix. She taught me to read out loud with the Harry Potter books. She always encouraged me to discuss themes and underlying plots throughout the series. Mom never shied from talking about the heavy references to death and loss and always focused on the ideas of love, friendship and strength. To this day, even with our busy lives, we set aside time to read the same books and discuss them in great length. I was taught that reading was like breathing - one needed it to thrive.
The word “Always.” may not be the biggest or most important moment in the Harry Potter series but it really captures my love for my mom and my love for books. (It doesn’t hurt that “Always” plays a role in The Hunger Games, either. Another book series Mom and I have bonded over.) So thank you, Mom, for all you’ve done for me in the last eighteen years. I love you always.

This is a constant reminder of two things:The person i became while backpacking alone through Europe for two months, as well as the way I always want to live my life. I always want have some freedom in with the every day grind, and this is a constant reminder to cherish that. For the love of travel, freedom, and always having a wild side.

I am going to UNC Asheville to become a Math Teacher, so I thought it fitting to put a heart (The equation graphs one) over my heart. =]

This is my first tattoo and it means so much to me. It’s from the song “Never Knew” by The Rocket Summer. For me the song is about finding God as more than some infinite figure in a far off place that has no relevance in my life but rather as a friend. To me, Jesus is a friend I can talk to, laugh with, struggle with and eventually spend eternity with in heaven and this is a reminder to me that even when times get tough and life gets lonely I will always have the most loyal friend in the world.

My nickname for my husband is Dipshit, and he calls me Dimple. When we first got married we talked very briefly about getting tattoos for each other but we never ended up doing it. Almost three years later, I decided to get one as a surprise for him. The tattoo is in his handwriting from a card he wrote to me, and in blue ink because that is his “preferred” ink colour. I love you, Dipshit!

This is my second tattoo! It was done at the same place where my first tattoo was, Electric City Tattooing in Scranton, PA. I am a huge fan of Henry David Thoreau and this one of my favorite quotes by him!
