This was my very first tattoo ever. It was a tender spot, but hey: go big or go home, right? Anyway, the “meaning” behind it, I suppose, is based on the fact that I am an artist and I, as artist’s do, create with my hands. It’s a start to an idea for a half-sleeve that I have. Is it bad that I’m already addicted to the Tattoo High?

These are the coordinates to a bench in a park I grew up in near Chicago. It’s a place that has a special place in my heart.

When I was a child, I would sit there with my Grandma as a break in the walk home from school. As a teen, I would go there and mess around with my friends after school, or smoke at night. And now, I go there to think. It’s the best view of the lake on that very spot.

My 4th tattoo (1st with color) on the back of my neck. It’s one of the hexagrams from the I Ching; representing ‘leaders’ & ‘the people’. It’s also the logo used for one of my favourite hip-hop groups Dead Prez. It means alot to me due to my background in the arts & the community, where I work as an artist, dancer & promoter.

john is amazing at what he does. he puts alot of thought and care into his pieces. i’m not saying that as a friend, i’m saying it because it’s true. he’s super anal, super attentive to detail, and really fucking good at it. definitely, go to goose for your next tattoo. i’m gonna be going back.

as for the design, it’s simple. beware of you and believe in you.
with arrows, so i aim them high. also, sidenote, archery is the only sport i’m good at. hah.
