My First Tattoo

A picture of my first tattoo (unfinished), from January 2011. Waited three years to get this.It was originally just going to be the koi fish; the koi’s design is a mix of my style and my artist’s style. The woman was a later addition to the design; she is inspired by a painting, “Oiran”, by Audrey Kawasaki. I’ve loved her work for years, and she is a huge inspiration of mine., so I decided to get it added as a tribute.The koi represents hardiness and endurance; I have been through a lot during my life, and represents my ability to overcome obstacles that come my way. The woman represents my love for art, and a tribute to a very talented woman. I can’t wait to get it finished.Done by Tyler Malek at Scorpion Tattoo, in Derry, NH.
