I got this piece at a tattoo convention in Miami yesterday. My husband and I both got versions of the same anchor because we keep each other grounded. We both have a tendency to hit the ‘self-destruct’ button on our lives from time to time and we’re the only people we know who can pull each other back from the brink before we go off the rails. The flowers are symbolic of a special friend of the family who pretty much raised me. She was a member of the church where Josh and I met and was very encouraging of our relationship when everyone else told me it was a bad idea and I was wasting my time with him. She passed away a few years ago, so I’m paying tribute to her, too, because pink carnations were her favorite flowers. <3 Jeff at Shamrock Tattoo from Ormond, Beach FL does amazing work!

My third tattoo which I got a few months ago. The story behind it is a long one but one of the reasons why I got it is because I love the Queens of the Stone Age, and blood, and gothic letters. Tattooed by a friend of mine in Budapest, Hungary.

This is my lovely mirror side piece. I got this tattoo at Covenant Tattoo in Fort Collins, CO by Jon Sanders. This tattoo represents a lot of things to me, hummingbirds hold a special place in my heart and have for a long time. I also used to have self esteem issues; hence the mirror. The mirror is cracked to show my improvements over the years and that things don&#8217;t always necessarily have to be perfect in order to be beautiful. I still have the color to add. I want the roses to be dusty pink and the hummingbird will be shades of green and blue. Every time I look at it I smile. Period. :)
